MEYDENBAUER BAY WATERFRONT PROJECT

Bellevue has begun work on the a key part of expansion that will connect to the Eastside Rail Corridor.

Meydenbauer Bay is one of the city's few access points to the Lake Washington waterfront and has remained fairly hidden to many visitors. It boasts a rich history, once serving as the winter port for a Puget Sound whaling fleet. The plan is to include a grand pedestrian walkway connecting the lake to downtown and to include the Eastside Rail Corridor. It will also include a quarter mile of Lake Washington waterfront, swimming beach, pier and hilltop overlook with views to Seattle. The plan is to be completed in Fall 2018 and is considered to become "a jewel in the Bellevue parks system".
